Spreading the great news about saving energy!
Everything we do is about people. We want to help people save as much energy as possible and do so in a way that is economically and environmentally responsible. To do that, we need great people like you to help us reach the people and teach them about the benefits of energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Duties:
- Attend community events in the Great Huntsville area like GreenU, Green Street Market, and home and remodeling shows.
- Listen to what people have to say about their homes and businesses.
- Educate people about renewable energy and energy efficiency. Don’t worry, we’ll train you!
- Come up with fun, creative ways to inspire people to save energy and switch to renewable energy!

Nexus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In order to keep the doors open and continue making a difference in our community, we need the help of anyone who can pitch in. It may be time, it may be $5, but every amount helps and is greatly appreciated.
Duties:
- Assess our current donation strategy and approach.
- Make recommendations and chart your own path for fundraising success.
- Secure donations from individuals and/or companies that want to see smart and sustainable energy take hold in Alabama.

Nexus received an awesome grant from Google to help us drive traffic to our website and for general marketing of our program. But to be honest, we don’t know how to harness its power. Can you help us?
Duties:
- Assess our current account structure to understand our advertising objectives.
- Craft new and awesome ads that engage with people.
- Drive traffic to our site and ultimately conversions to our programs and donations.
- Come up with fun, creative ways to inspire people to click on our ads!
Who We Need:
- A technically-minded, curious, and ever-improving genius who can wield the power of Google AdWords for the betterment of our community.

We recycle all sorts of stuff! From ink cartridges to chip bags to shoes and cigarette butts. To see everything we can take, CLICK HERE. Recycling saves energy and energy production is one of the biggest producers of harmful emissions.
We almost forgot to mention that recycling can also raise funds for our programs. You’ll be reducing emissions and helping support our programs to make our community more sustainable.
Duties:
- Collect material from various locations throughout the City of Huntsville.
- Sort material at our office in Research Park. We’re near Bridge Street so there is always good food nearby.
- Ship material to Terra-Cycle
- Come up with fun, creative ways to inspire people to recycle things they never thought possible!

- A creative, self-starting, and passionate person. That’s it!

We’re trying to create awareness about all the benefits of smart and sustainable energy. To do this, we use social media to show everyone just how cool sustainable is. We’ll be looking to you to help us engage the general public about the issues, news, and fun in sustainable energy. Think about it, you get to volunteer for something you believe in while playing on the computer at home. How cool is that?
Duties:
- Manage all social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, HootSuite, Pinterest and more!
- Come up with great ways to engage our audience.
- Build a stronger social media presence.
- Blow us away with results.

- Someone with social media slang running through their blood and a knack for engagement. ICYMI: We need you on our team!

We attend and host tons of events. But we often fail to capture all the best parts not to mention, we’re not experts like you. Your expertise with a video camera and editing software would go a long way in helping us capture our work in the community and catalyze change. Will you help us?
Duties:
- Attend various events with Nexus Energy Center staff.
- Take awesome video of the event.
- Edit the video to make great collections of our impact in the community.
- Blow our minds with fun new ways of using video to inspire people.

- Gauge interested volunteers, assign them appropriate and engaging duties, and manage their work.
- Advise us on progress and opportunities for improvement.
