Check Your Indoor Heat Index with This Comfort Calculator
How do you manage your indoor comfort during the summer heat wave? The weather reporters are using the Heat Index to highlight the effect of high outdoor temperature and humidity. You can manage your indoor heat index too. Lowering your thermostat is only one option.
Home performance experts have identified six variables that you can manage year round. Most people manage comfort intuitively, but here is a handy calculator to help you understand the relationship between the variables. Adjust the sliders to see how air temperature, relative humidity, air motion, mean radiant temperature (room surface temperatures), your clothing and your metabolism interact.
The temperature slider is celsius, so we have a calculator for Farenheit conversion. (78F=26C and 68F=20C)
