Back to School Already ?
There is a common secret that everyone who runs a non-profit, is involved or participates in a board of a non-profit surely knows. Non-profits do not need just money to survive. They need knowledge.
In this direction, the Community Foundation of Huntsville/Madison County created the Non-Profit University (NPU). A whole day during which non-profits of the area can go back to college and learn about board development, building communities, attracting volunteers, budget and financial forecasting, grant writing, marketing and PR, social media and fundraising.
Exciting, huh!? This is what we feel as well! And we are not the only ones! This year around 500 participants showed up on June 22nd for the Non-Profit University day, doubling the number of participants of last year!
Our executive Director and Founder of Nexus Energy Center, Ruchi Singhal was there.
“I love to learn new ways to sustain our great organization. And I was so inspired by the lectures, the knowledge that the experts shared with us so generously and the passion and courage they conveyed to us”.
Stuart Oberman, CEO and President of the Community Foundation, generously offered their Non-Profit Fundholder Partners, including Nexus Energy Center, a complimentary registration to NPU agenda for 2016, which started off with Wayne Olson as the keynote speaker.
Wayne used his experience from Disney to teach us the secrets behind improving the bottom line in any business. Mark Wilkinson also led a session on «Growing your board members as fundraisers».
It was a really great experience and we, as Nexus Energy Center, are looking forward to next year when we will need to go back to university once again!
