Hear our keynote speaker, Mohammed A. Khan, Jr., the Senior Vice President of the Defense Business Unit at Aerojet Rocketdyne.
Mr. Khan joined Aerojet Rocketdyne in April 2017 as Senior Vice President of the company’s Defense Business Unit. In this role, he leads Aerojet Rocketdyne’s personnel, technologies and services that are manufactured and delivered to support integral defense initiatives around the world. Mr. Khan also serves as the executive interface with the Department of Defense, all Armed Services, other U.S. Government Agencies, and domestic and international companies involved in supplying customers with Aerojet Rocketdyne’s propulsion systems and services. He is based out of the company’s Defense Headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama. Prior to joining industry, Mr. Khan served over 21 years in the U.S. Air Force where he held leadership positions of increasing responsibility before retiring as a Colonel in 2010. Mr. Khan received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from California Lutheran University, a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the National Defense University. He also is a graduate of the U.S. Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School, the U.S. Air Force Squadron Officer School, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Air Force Air War College. He and his wife Lisa reside at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. They have two sons, Captain Mohammed A. Khan III and Second Lieutenant Simeon K. Khan. They are proud grandparents to Soraya Mae Khan.
Awards
Nexus Energy Center awards to be given out are to honor our Champion’s of Energy. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks are our Comfort Project honorees. John Pospicil is our award winner for mentoring Chad Wright, our HVAC contractor and field technician.
The North Alabama Buildings Performance Challenge is an initiative to cut energy usage in North Alabama commercial buildings by a target of 20% in order to reinvest the savings in our community. The Challenge currently has more than 17 million square feet in participating building space. At the Green Tie Bash, the Challenge will present awards for Project of the Year, Best New Performance, Best Overall Performance, and Most Improved.
The Association of Energy Engineers will also be presenting award to fifteen individuals at the Green Tie Bash.
