Nexus helps bring energy awareness to Redstone Arsenal

Two years of work is finally paying off at the Army Materiel Command as their energy savings could sky-rocket in the near future.

“My goal is to save energy and save energy costs in our buildings,” said Jennifer Morgan while standing amidst multiple energy saving displays on Redstone Arsenal. She has teamed up with Nexus Energy Center and Energy Huntsville to bring more awareness to the importance of energy efficiency throughout the month of October.

However, her role at AMC is much more than just spreading awareness. Morgan has actually been working for the past two year to find large energy saving techniques that the command can implement across its multiple locations throughout the US.

“Across AMC we spend over $2 billion in energy,” Morgan said. “Nationwide we are one of the Army’s largest consumers of energy and the Army, as you might know, is certainly the DoD’s biggest consumer.”
