Energy Savers: Vehicles and Fuel
We tend to depend on our cars even for short distances where we could walk or bike. When thinking about energy usage and being efficient, we often dont make the connection between those two activities.
Commuting from our home to work takes up a big part of our day and is something that we all have to do. Being smart with how we commute plays a huge role for our planet and our health.
Here at Nexus Energy Center, we believe that we all can make a difference and have a positive environmental impact this summer by making smarter choices when it comes to how often we use our cars or the type of fuel we use. This way we can easily save money and energy.
First of all, when you purchase a vehicle, you should consider if it is fuel efficient. There are many alternative fuel vehicles to choose from that are environmentally friendly and all in all will cost you far less than traditional ones.
Depending on your needs, choose the vehicle that suites you most. For example, if you mostly drive in cities, a smaller hybrid might be right for you. If you need a vehicle for towing or heavy use, consider a clean diesel vehicle. Also, consider buying a highly fuel-efficient vehicle. A fuel-efficient, hybrid electric, plug-in electric, or other alternative fuel vehicle could cut your fuel costs and help the environment.
In general we should all try and use our cars less. Use public transportation or even try riding a bicycle. This way you will not only reduce your environmental footprint, save money on fuel, and save energy but you will have better health, living a more active lifestyle.
